Your China Pals

Your China Pals are exclusively Chinese nationals (mostly university students or recent graduates) who all speak excellent English. Our Pals are interested in showing off their city and culture to foreigners, while also using the experience to improve their spoken English ability and earn some extra money.

Our helpers are all native to, or have extensive experience with, your indicated city - assuring they can offer the best insight towards its culture and history, while also suggesting good places for shopping and dining.

Additionally, because our Pals are NOT professional contracted guides, you save on the inflated "foreigner" price, and gain a friend that is more willing to give you a personal opinion instead of regurgitating some text they've memorized from a state sanction tourism book. We pride ourselves on offering helpers that are fun and interesting - making your trip just the same.

The People Behind The Site

We are a collaboration of foreigners and Chinese who have come together to create a service where everyone benefits. On the foreigner side, we wanted to create a way for foreigners to inexpensively have access to a local helper that can assist them in avoiding the confusion and chaos that we, ourselves, experienced while travelling China.

From the Chinese side, we wanted to find a way to offer some English-speaking university students (or recent grads) a way to earn well-needed extra money doing what they already love to do - speak English, talk about their city & culture and make new friends.
